Natalie leads teams across Girl Effect’s five offices – in London, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Malawi – providing her gender expertise, commissioning research and ensuring the organisation’s girl-centric strategy runs through every brand and technology programme delivered. In 2017, Natalie launched Girl Effect’s latest innovation, Girls Connect; a technology enabled pioneering new way to connect girls to information and support in rural Nigeria.
Prior to Girl Effect, Natalie spent over a decade in gender and international development, joining Plan International UK in 2010. There, she co-ordinated all adolescent girl programming for the organisation. This included managing the Girls Fund – leading gender transformative programmes in Mali, El Salvador, Vietnam, Nepal, Uganda, Sierra Leone, India and Bangladesh.
Natalie is also a Strategic Advisor for W.E. Can Lead and is a mentor for Women Mentoring in International Development. She holds an M.A. in International Politics and Human Rights from City University in London and B.A. in Women’s and Gender Studies from Occidental College in Los Angeles.
