Richard Tandoh

Richard is currently engaged as a Portfolio Associate for the Global Innovation Fund (GIF), a social impact investor with $200M of public money under management.  His role is to provide venture support to GIF’s investees.  Prior to joining GIF, Richard worked on Barclays’s Africa-focused, savings-led financial inclusion programme, Banking on Change.  He is also co-founder of the news source Private Equity Africa.

With a background in business technology, Richard has advised a range of blue chip companies including Credit Suisse, Fidelity Investments, BP and Shell on digital transformation initiatives.

His side-passion is Star 100, a Ghana-focused diaspora network, which he has built in a voluntary capacity, into a well-respected network of nearly 1000 registered members.  Under his leadership, the network has developed a reputation for hosting events that educate, inspire, challenge and entertain on a broad range of topics.  Recent sessions have included The Blockchain & Africa: From land registration to tackling blood diamonds and The Power of Stories: African oral tradition to modern day therapy.

Richard holds a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Geography from the University of London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and a Certificate in Education from the University of London.
