Bio
Eghosa Giwa-Osagie is a Structured Finance expert at the African Development Bank (AfDB) with over 18 years of experience across structured finance, corporate finance, and debt advisory in Africa and international markets. She plays a leading role in structuring innovative financing solutions that mobilize private capital from global investors into priority sectors across the continent, enabling partnerships between development finance institutions and private institutional investors. Her work focuses on unlocking investment through bespoke risk-mitigation instruments that address market constraints and reduce perceived risk in African markets. She has contributed to landmark transactions that support sovereign and corporate access to capital markets, through structures designed to attract institutional investors and expand capital pools.
Prior to joining AfDB, Eghosa built her career in investment banking and financial advisory, with a strong focus on leveraged and acquisition finance across multiple sectors. In addition to her executive role, she has served as a Board Member for an SME-focused venture capital fund, where she contributed to investment strategy, governance, and portfolio oversight. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a CFA Charterholder, and holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Investment from Queen Mary University of London.
