Bio

Ruth brings two decades of East-African banking leadership to NMB. She spent ten formative years at PwC Tanzania, rising to Associate Director while auditing Tier-1 banks, then became Executive Director, Finance & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Standard Chartered Bank. 

In 2017, she was appointed Business and Finance Lead for the Kenya–Tanzania–Uganda cluster and subsequently joined NMB as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in 2018. Appointed as the CEO in August 2020, she led the bank’s Medium-Term Plan (MTP), focusing on customer growth and maintaining productivity while overseeing financial performance. Besides her current role, Ruth serves as an independent Non-executive Director for Tanzania Portland Cement Company Limited (TPCC).
