Linda Ayoola

Bio

Linda Ayoola’s career began at the Royal Bank of Scotland, where she managed large-scale initiatives, including a global voting drive. However, her deep-rooted passion for the creative industry—fueled by her involvement with her husband, renowned Spoken Word Artist Suli Breaks—ultimately drew her into the music business.

Her journey at Platoon (now Apple) began as Africa Lead/Services Lead, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the global recognition of African artists. Platoon, a music and artist services company acquired by Apple in 2018, is known for its unique approach to artist development—providing funding, distribution, and creative support to independent musicians without requiring them to sign away their rights. Under Linda’s leadership, Platoon has introduced significant initiatives, including providing health insurance for artists in South Africa, reflecting a commitment to supporting musicians beyond their careers.

Now serving as Global Head of Music, Linda oversees all genres with a worldwide team, guiding the careers of artists such as Ayra Starr, Amaarae, Teni, and Mr Eazi. Through her work, she has been instrumental in bridging the gap between African and global music markets, ensuring that African artistry receives the visibility and infrastructure it deserves. Her efforts have been recognized industry-wide, earning her a spot on Billboard’s “40 Under 40” list, which highlights her influence and contributions to the global music sector.

Beyond music, Linda is deeply engaged in community building and thought leadership. She has organized TEDx events in Peckham, providing a platform for emerging voices, and has served as a magistrate, demonstrating her commitment to civic engagement and justice. Her influence extends to mentorship, cultural advocacy, and artist development, making her a key figure in the evolving global music landscape.

Firmly rooted in her Nigerian heritage, Linda continues to champion African music and culture on the world stage, shaping the industry’s future through innovation, leadership, and an unwavering dedication to artist growth.
